Why AndrewCliftonChoreography?
Where Creativity Will Prosper and Flow
Andrew Clifton believes that the expressiveness of movement that our bodies create is as valuable as the words that we speak into action and is dedicated to redefine his expectations of choreography with every step that he creates. Being immersed in the dance industry since he was in his adolescence, Andrew has gained a respect and passion for the performing arts. Starting in the musical theatre world, he received training not just in dance, but in voice and drama as well. Combining that multidisciplinary foundation with the dance training and passion for concert dance that was instilled in him, Andrew has been surrounded by many creatives and artists that have pushed him towards this path. He wants to improve aspects of the dance industry with his work, not just by challenging typical artistic merit but also by changing the overall environment and way that dancers are treated. He believes that his choreography is the best way for him to do that. Andrew's choreography is surrounded and based off of the principles of collaboration, duality, and individualism while specifically being rooted in the codified methods of classical ballet and limon modern technique. The beauty that comes from individualism while in a group setting is what inspires the vision for all of Andrew's works which led him to find that collaboration is extremely important to his practice as a choreographer. Andrew looks forward to creating and working with all types of dancers to fulfill his vision in this industry.
